Classical Swing is a unique musical juxtaposition of the Nutcracker Suite by Piotr Tchaikovsky and the Peer Gynt Suite by Edvard Grieg, combined with the Harlem Nutcracker and Peer Gynt arranged for Big Band by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.  

Classical Swing is a complete audio-visual experience with orchestra and big band on stage together conducted by John Axelrod, and ballet and swing dancers and improvised jam sessions.  Performed in the USA, Switzerland, Germany, Poland and France, Classical Swing was an immediate sellout with demands for more performances.  A DVD featuring the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire and Bleu Citron Big Band was broadcast on France 3.  This 2 hour interactive concert is an ideal project for pops seasons, jazz festivals and sponsored events.
